Datacenter Mashup

Aims of this project were:

• a mashup of different data source in order to facilitate (support) the decision process
• an interactive filtering of data on the basis of some predefined (energy-related) criteria
• integrating geographical and climate data source in the simulation
• making use of Silverlight animations to guide the user through the decision process

All controls were custom made and the framework also included things like:

• MEF loading of assemblies
• a re-usable portal framework for similar applications
• an out-of-browser version with additional possibilities
• authentication and security
• asynchronous data loading

Probably the most difficult part in this project was understanding the geographical and climate related data sources, how they map onto the Bing maps and also how to enable an offline and OOB scenario.

This project was shown offf at a conference in London and got very positive response!
