Datasets as particle systems

Sometimes one needs to take a leap and approach a problem from a different angle. Techniques based on Microsoft PowerPivot, charting, diagrams or static visualizations cannot capture systems of data with an inherently dynamical nature. That is, they are at their core coupled systems of (differential) equations and it requires a more mathematical approach to analyze them. Typically this involves iterating and solving equations through numerical methods and thanks to F# this has become somewhat easier than before (using C#).

On the visual level it’s often necessary to implement custom (virtualizing) panels or even direct access to (writeable) bitmaps. The result is often unexpected and requires a deeper understanding of the (business) context in order to tune into the, often bewildering, many parameters these systems bring along.

We develop rather innovative approaches to data by viewing datasets as particles with certain properties and seeing what correlation effects occur when shifting their properties. The wonderful thing is that this works very well and one gets a feeling for the business dynamics through this.

We offer:

  • a deep understanding of the mathematical apparatus
  • expertise in numerics and algorithmics
  • a fresh look on your data and business context
  • visualization techniques and artful instinct for the ‘right thing’
